ten single spaced is a lot too. nope, not long-winded at all. One of my classmates actually had his project printed as a softcover book. Made me sort of interested in doing the same. I got some really surprisingly kind and moving feedback from some professors, so maybe it's worth having printed up? Would be a cool thing to hold onto and pass on to my kids or something.
It was basically a description of an 8 month long project. Telling people what I set out to do, why I wanted to do it, how I went about it, everything that happened in the course of doing it, what I found out, what I've concluded, and where I'm going from there; that's a lot of pages mang. It was extremely hard to keep my talk down to the time it was. I could've gone on for another hour or so. As a philosophy major, I'm used to writing tons and tons of papers. Once you get into the habit of writing them, you get a lot better at it, and it actually becomes harder to write just a little bit when you've become more skilled at breaking things down and building other things up. To really convince anyone of something, or to really help someone understand complex things, it naturally requires a lot of words.
I love and hate commas. I'll just leave it at that. but mang that's what proofreaders and editors are all about, if you get into writing seriously. If it doesn't matter.. then fuck the small things, just say what you want to say, how you want to say it.
I love message boards because I can structure my thoughts however I damn well please! I love grammar, mechanics, and all that good stuff.. but once I hit "reply" I say the fuck with all that shit.
