errm no not really you can do hydroponics or soil .. now if it was a really big bottle or better a bucket with a lid and black (so you couldnt see the roots),and then you put a air pump and a air stone in it it would turn into a oxy pot and that would work ...why dont you like soil?
just buy a oxy pot lol there pritty cheap or a aqua farm see pic below... you uk or usa?

thing is marijuana needs oxygen going to the roots . most people dont no this obviously growers do lol.. if you put it in a bottle of water like a flower ..it will die in like a month maybe sooner.
