Sounds like a version of the water cure method. My only experience with it was to do a water cure with the large fans...back when i still had an inqiring mind. It did smooth the taste out to the point of having no taste and the texture changed to kinda hard and crumbly. Remember... these were leaves, but i followed the water curing hype for buds for some time when it came out a few yrs ago in some other sites, and i really dont recall anyone experienced that put a seal of approval on that method.
I think it might help somewhat if the plants were constanly and way overferted all the time. It might help leach some extra chlorophyl out and improve taste/burnability but aside from that it seems like it might do more harm than good. Post results if you do it, good growin'
