Firstly, you'll only have to use a "wetting agent" the first time or two that you water new soil, that's when it is most resistant to water penetration. Secondly, use a few drops of gentle shampoo per gallon of water and the water will flow down much easier. I recommend JOHNSONS BABY SHAMPOO.
