Before I get to the lights, some background on the seeds I'm using. Two summers ago I had an amazing outside grow using seeds I got from different friends. Two were male and pulled pronto. The other 10 were glorious females. After harvesting, drying and curing, I ended up with 15 packed quart jars. Of course the friends who donated seeds each rec'd a jar. Last summer my grow was dismal indeed. All 10 plants started out as female but then two started showing the signs of pods. I didn't pull them out soon enough and the rest of my grow ended up as hermies. They were quite smokeable, but the quality and and especially the quanity didn't compare. I started my first indoor grow, 5 plants, last fall using the seeds from my summer grow. They did well, but again one was a hermie and I was hoping I could just keep cutting the pods but it pollinated the females. Not as many seeds as in the summer crop, but I was pleased with the smoke. Hopefully, as someone on this site said once, they should pretty much be feminized seeds. I'm planning on starting a basic grow room in my basement because I had a pretty good run on my first grow and it certainly wasn't elaborate. I used 3 screw in fluorescent lights, both daylight and bright light in reflector hoods, a bluish plant grow light and a plant grow fluorescent tube light. I don't understand all the red vs blue, lumens, etc, when some of you discuss lighting. I want to use 2 of the tube lights overhead and the screw in lights on the sides of some shelving. My question is, is there a better fluorescent tube light I should be using? I'm going to try an post a pic, not really good with this.
