Hey thanx. I know how scared i was and i just wanted everyone out there to
feel at ease.. don't worry yourself to death. it's not the end of the world. it is
very unfair to all potheads out there to be so targeted. we need jobs too, and
we deserve those jobs. a little pot is harmless, in fact, way more harmless
than drinking, and it is not fair that pot smokers have the worst deal when it
comes to drug testing. i mean, you can go into the testing center high off
your gourd on acid and they couldn't even detect it. you could go in drunk
and they wouldn't care. you can be a total heroin or crack addict and quit for
three days and have clean pee. how is that fair? i wish there was a way to
legally fight this; it seems to me to be an infringement on our constitutional
rights, but we are all too frightened to do anything about it.

me, a 38 year old college graduate, had a hard time finding a friend who
didn't smoke. in fact, my own mother agreed to give me her pee, but we
figured it may not have been clean, since even she, a 58 year old woman, had
smoked one bong hit three weeks ago. my friends are all professionals, with
college degrees in industries including computers, social work, and even
teaching. they are all intelligent, trustworthy, responsible, and very good at
what they do. i have smoked for over 14 years and have successfully pursued
my career with no problems. i wish we could all come out of the closet and
prove that pot smoking is not a pastime worth condemning the way it is in
american society today.

the job i got is an office job. i have no contact with the public, let alone
children. if i were to be dispensing drugs, or driving people places, or
something like that, i could understand, but for a packaging graphic arts job,
why on earth would they need to do a background check for felonies and a
drug test is beyond me. i seriously feel violated and treated unfairly. i don't
understand why more people have not risen up against this.

i will try my best to repost this thread as much as possible to help all those
out there going thru the same thing.

thanx, sinister tokeware, for the kudos.
