Sal is a great teacher. As with most psychedelics and psychoactives I have a great reverence for the ability to open new perspectives of reality. SalviaD is not a toy. It is not pot. It is not at all like Mescaline, LSD, Psilocibe, etc. It is in a field of its own. It demands much respect. If you don't respect it and use it as a spiritual tool, you will not get the benefit Sal has to offer. It will GRIP you, suck you to your bones and then into your mind... and perhaps a little beyond. It's good to have a catalyst to get an extensive effect. I first took it after tripping on morning glory seeds containing LSA (LysergicAcid Amide- like LSD which is Diethyamide). I meditated in a cave deep within the woods a full moon lit the magical universe. After I hit the pipe using a butane-torch lighter (NOTE: SalviaD needs a very hot source to seperate the Salvinorin-A from the leaf. A regular lighter is a waste) I was on my way into the mind/spirit. Have you ever experienced being in a movie theatre and a frame of celluloid gets caught in the projector and it melts?? That's the way Sal took me in. The last frame that I saw with my vision froze. I could move my head but it was all I could see. Then the physical plane started to melt away and I began the journey inward. I was connecting to my godhead and led through form-constants of sorts. There were pillars of patters as I moved through the infinite space of evanesence. It was a beautiful journey. It was interrupted several times by a dog rubbing up against my physical body. I was a little bummed about that, because I would be going somewhere and be taken off the path and back to the dense vibrations of waking life.
Salvia is like entering into a dream. Like tripping on psychedelics, but most of the time you're not aware of your body. One paticular time I was one two hits of blotter(LSD) and I took quite a frightening ride. I completely forgot that I had a body to return to... my ego was ripped to shreds and I had no identity of physical self. I was not my name nor did I remember this life that I am living. At Some Point I began to become a mass... a substance and felt physical, but trapped in a cycle. I felt as if I were going in circles and drowning. Afterwards, I felt myself struggling and I amassed into a zygote. I felt myslef being reborn. I kept fighting though to return to a less confusing place. I was lost. I had no map and no bering. Eventually I came out of it. But, when I tried to gain my ground in the physical I would trance out and everything that I viewed with my eyes became nothing. It meant nothing. It blended into a whole and that whole became something else. The fabric of the physical was shed. It was an amazingly insightful journey. Although, it was frightening at times.
That was a vague description of those times I've induced SalviaD. There are details to the trips that I left our or you'd be reading five pages just about the shift in consciousness. Heh.
That was many, many years ago. It was before salvia got mainstream. I fear that this wonder-plant will become a scheduled drug in the U.S. because of ignorant minds.
Salvia is NOT for entertainment. It is not something you want to get "high on."
I consider myself a seasoned veteran of altered states. With the alteration of the waking state you have to have an extremely open mind. You have to, in other words, let go. You have to be able to accept death as inevitable 'cause you just might experience it but not fully.

MY TIPS:
1.> Have a spiritual intent before you try Sal. Know that it will be a spritual journey and ask yourself, beforehand, what you would like to learn. Don't have any expectations. Just flow with what it gives you. If it gives you an experience that you don't think you can handle, just know that it is going to be alright.
2.> Have a smoke buddy. Alternate your smoking. Choose who will go first and allow them to go UP and COME down (completely) before the other one tries. This is just b eing responible.
3.> Make sure it is somewhere dark. There need not be any lights because it is not a visual herb.
4.> Setting is all important. Find somewhere very comfortable. I suggest sitting half-lotus (cross-legged) on the floor, cushion, couch... just wherever it is comfy.
5.> Although, the "trip" only last 10-15min or less... while you're "tripping" it will feel like much longer. Prepare for this.
6.> Enjoy the insight and power of my friend Sal.
**************** There are many more preparations you should make but most are common sense. ****************
Preparation is the most sensible thing you can do before you take a trip anywhere. If you go to Yosimite you prepare and take provisions. The only provision you will need when tripping is an OPEN-MIND. This physical reality is one of many realities or planes in which your energy can exist. I mean, LMAO, do you really think there is only one reality? That's very limiting to the mind/spirit.
I suggest two or three days before doing some meditation. Simply close your eyes and focus (single-pointedly) on your breath. Focus on nothing but the sensation of breath as you inhale slowly and exhale slowly. Feel that sensation as the breath enters and exits the nasal cavity that meets the throat. Focus... focus.
If it is possible don't have any worldly contact with others. Don't watched t.v. or bombarde yourself with anything worldly. Go in the woods and camp a few days then on the second or third day TRIP... Sal, or peyote, or whatever you choose. Or you can just sit and meditate. Meditation, I have found, is the best drug. If you meditate long enough you can trip. But, don't make that your number one priority when experiencing meditation. That will come in time and it takes years to master. Don't be discouraged... perhaps someday you will tap into your kundalini nerve that induces a DMT-type trip. Why do you think Buddist monks are so happy? Heh, I'm kidding, but not at the same time. Happiness comes from within.
That's enough for now. May you all have wonderful experiences in this life. We'll all meet again someday.
