Why don't mushrooms work on me?

I have become very disappointed and hopeless at this point. My last attempt I ate about a 1/4 maybe a little more and I still got the same results while everyone else around me was tripping like crazy. And I am a female that only weighs 120 pounds by the way. What is going on? Is it possible that I just can't trip on mushrooms? Please tell me there is some hope.
