yes virginia, there are rabid coons in stanley park...rabies is quite rare on this side of the continental divide - only bats carry rabies in british columbia which makes stanley park's rabies a popular attraction...people actually go down there to taunt crazy racoons...the park staff collect and euthanize them every so often, but it's a sure sign of spring to see a throng of young lads pelting mad coons with rocks and sticks
being an old dude, hempity remembers racoon deterrent by it's former politically incorrect brand name, 'coon stix'...you can buy racoon deterrent at the nature house at the entrance to stanley park...it is a tube/stick of smelly ammonia salts that you sprinkle around your picnic site to ward off crazy racoons...it might also work on black people because i haven't seen any in stanley park, but i am certain it doesn't work on asians
but you can always use an old fashioned stick to beat off the coons like they did in the good old days
