Truth?? This is such total bullshit, Hog. I searched just one of the quotes, the one above, found the same quote all over the right-wingnut blogosphere, then found that it was taken out of context, and that it wasn’t even quoted correctly.
From someone that actually read the book:
“... he is saying should the political winds turn so that there is a witch-hunt for every muslim just because of what a few extremist muslims did ... he will stand by those innocent muslims and not feed the hate.”
Here is the actual quote from the book:
“In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
Truth?? How can you find truth if you won’t try to verify anything? As long as it fits your preconceived notions, then it must be truth, right?
