ok, borrowing from Wiri here. I think it would be cool to see or hear about folks favorite movie clips if you want. Be warned tho, there are spoilers. And if nobody is interested that's fine too cuz I found an excuse to surf youtube, lol.
I have included clips from True Romance. I love that flick.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=w94dZtKXaaE&feature=related Gary Oldman as Drexel, a wigger (white guy who thinks he is black.) The theme behind true romance isn't love, it's courage. This scene is one that epitomizes that, as Clarence an average guy who runs a comic book store confronts his girlfriends pimp to stay away from her. His inspiration to do so comes from his hero, Elvis.
Courage remaining the theme throughout, Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken confront each other. Hopper is playing Clarence's father. He knows he will end up dead irregardless, and goes out in glory, defending his son. From what I have heard Walken and Hopper filmed this scene only once. Halfway through they began to improv. The director used it for the movie. http://youtube.com/watch?v=-iYYZYkM3s0&feature=related
Brad Pitt representing the stoners: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y1VpXlKp5fg&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=DPAfTDsx1-4
Keeping on the theme of a courage, as far as I know this is one of the first scenes in a movie where the blonde bimbo, played by Arquette, is neither killed by the bad guys nor saved by the good guys, but in fact saves herself. A role model for many. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2bXNNBSVX-o&feature=related
imo, an awesome ass flick.
thanks for letting me babble, onto the laundry. best wishes, HM
