Is that going to have some other apocalyptic effect? I remember back when I was in grad school, we were at the height of the late cold war (early 1980s) and I felt like ... well, if we have a nuclear war, at least I won't have to finish my thesis! That gave me some cold comfort... Like Bum says, though, I guess we'll see over the next couple of years. On the financial side, last week was certainly historic, one way or the other. Either the first (of many) IBs went down, or the Fed saved a major run on the bank from spiralling us downwards. While they may not be apocalyptic, they sure are volatile... B
