That's the only thing that makes me sad about NOLA. I have a friend who's brother was a Cop when Katrina went down. He had so many emotional issues afterwards from what he witnessed and saw that played such a toll in his life in general. Thus far, he still has challenges but alike so many NOLA residents, they all re-located here (Houston) and won't go back (not to say I blame some of them - but the thugs, they need to go and go QUICKLY!!!)
NOLA was a lot of fun before Katrina I was told. I wouldn't want to live there though like do-gooders Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (if you really can call that their "residence"). I have heard that pre-Katrina, Mardi Gras was anything goes. That's pretty crazy.
I guess that's where the expression "Crazy Cajun" comes from.
