There was no call for that kind of brutality. Recently a uniformed cop was shot dead and the cops have found 2 of the 3 suspects when that had happened. They got the last guy last night, (Eric Floyd). So tensions have been pretty high. These 3 guys in the video jumped out of a car and shot randomly into a crowd and were driving away when they were apprehended.
My guess is that it's kind of gang/mob mentality. Once things got started they just snowballed out of control. The thing I find more abhorrent is that some people actually think that this kind of thing is okay because the cops were stressed, and the guys beaten were criminals. Some people have been decrying fox news for showing the tape. I guess some people just can't wrap their wee little minds around the fact that justice does not equate to vengeance. That cops no matter how stressed must abide by the laws they uphold.
Those 3 guys might have deserved getting a beating but cops simply do not have the right to take the law into their own hands and determine guilt and punishment. I don't buy into the whole, they are stressed argument. If you become a cop and don't think that you might potentially be in dangerous, stressful, life and death situations and you are a retard.
