I don't believe the symptom is long term though--we have have a hell of a lot of brain cells and alcohol kills more anyway, so they're the one's with the major and permanent memory loss (I see it in my father all the time, and he drinks a good bit everyday). But, as a college professor in Psychology, I have no problem doing my job and remembering all the info I need to present to my classes, so I think like every other drug, it affects people differently...
