Even as children they were probably a little affraid of people and over the years learned to develop a certain skeptiacl appraoch to life. Later in life you can see this manifested as their ability? to maintain a lifestyle in which they are constantly having to break the law. If they are going to do something that is against the law, they must be able to let that be a part of their life. And the only people who could let that be a part of their life are people who are use to, and have become acustom to, being cautious and on guard.
