How do you keep a mother alive? Outdoor, after harvest? Should it be harvested differently? Brought inside during winter? I would think bringing it inside during cold months, but do not want to run any lights.

well forget it then because they need light to regenerate back into veg mode...a minimum of 18 hours but i prefer 24 until veg has restarted. search here for "regeneration"...

Yeah I know they need light indoors, Im just trying to figure out which methods are possible for an outdoor mother. Ive always chopped em' down for harvest. Do most people bring em indoors? They wouldnt survive a winter would they?

most people use them ( clone off them ) all year then harvest the mum at the end and start a new one inside for next year
or just keep one inside period under lights

not sure how to solve your problem, im guessing you cant have lights on because the extra electricity? you can use cheap cfls just to keep it alive for 6 months just keep topping it !

or is it lack of space coz i cant help you with that one lol i live far to far away lol : )

No way could they survive a winter unless you are way down south or out west where there is no cold weather ....
... your best bet is to clone off the mother, then keep it (them) alive during the winter months. A clone can survive with just fluor.

This way you're sure to have females for next year. :)
