i usualy start my plants indoor 3 weeks before i put them outside because i was
told that it works best by a great grower. how long do you personaly wait? if i
start earlier, will they die or will they just be bigger or what? im just curious...

you can start them indoors earlier but you'll need a light to keep them in veg. a window sill is not enough...
when moving indoor plants out under the sun they'll need to be gradually introduced to direct sunlight by starting them in a lightly shaded area then moving them into more and more sunlight over a week or so to keep them from getting sunburned.

I'm certainly not the most experienced grower here but if you're using a HPS light stick with it...if you're using flurescents or the windowsill take dels advice and gradually give them sunlight

gonna be harder to maintain?

when there small give them just enough light to live, no point blasting them with a hps .the reason the grow them inside is that the outdoor environment is harsh ... the light at veg (spring) will be about the same as the florecents close up, they will be stronger plants for it (USE A FAN TO STRENGTHEN THE STEMS)... when they reach past about 3 weeks give them the window sill (still with a fan on them )for a couple of days to get used to the light then put them outside ...they should be pritty happy then and that means no stress ..... as in they will grow faster and turn out to be bigger healthier plants ...resulting in a larger harvest

green houses are also perfect for hardening off plants...but they MUST have a fan or a breeze on the for the stems
