it's still a bit too too early to put them outdoors full-time...the sun is only up for 12 and a half hours at the end of march. i say wait at least another month, more like 6 or 7 weeks before putting them into the ground. in my area (SW deserts) i have to wait until around the middle or end of may before the sun's up long enough to keep them in veg...especially older ones that have been started indoors.

yup, i just transplanted fresh rooted clones into the veg room that will be supplying our summer grow while their moms are now in the flower room. hate having the added costs of running lights in two rooms but it sure beats looking for females a few months from now...!

yup, ya go some seedlings...

do those cups have drainage holes? they should...or else you need to be very careful with the watering and let them dry out between waterings or else you stand a good chance of losing them to root rot. good drainage is essential...

I amitching to start one outside we have a great grow season here usually ( I live in the south east) But these last few nights its been near freezing, and I usually start them outdoors. I would do inside but its so expensive and I am on a very low budget.
What type of flood light was that, how far did you keep it from the plants?
Details would be great I could really use a cheap method like that.

its a Sylvania "Spot Grow" and i purchased it at Lowes home and garden for
around $10. i now have two because they need more light as they have grown.
i realized this when they started stretching, so i had to spiral the stems down
and burry them. but for only twenty dollars its not a bad lighting system. i keep
them about 1.3 feet away from the plants and have a constant fan blowing
twards the two lights. I know how it is to be on a budget, thats why i tried this.
My advise is to start with two lights.

For anyone who cares, I decided to wait and started them outdoors a week ago, great weather, they took two days to break ground, and are now growing nice healthy little babys.

if you have your seedlings coming directly out of the ground you might want to protect them from leaf-cutters and other critters that love to eat those tender shoots. a barrier method works great for this and can be done by taking a serrated knife and cutting both ends off of an aluminum can (be careful with the sharp edges). hold the can centered over the seedling and press into the ground enough to form a seal and stay in place...sometimes you need to trench around the can to make it stay. after the 'bark' forms around the trunk the can can be removed or it can be left in place for entire grow...

also be sure to keep a roll of duct tape handy for quick fixes when a branch breaks or for tying down.

good luck...
