i started germinating my seeds a while back, (theyre not too big yet, only an inch or two) yellow since they showed up.........

??

could be they're not getting enough light...but need more info. seedlings need the full regular light routine as soon as they break surface...just not as strong as a vegging plant.

another problem has arisen now tho, the white stems are turning shades of purple

Well....youre certainly having a "colorfull" experience this round.

I doubt if the purple stems are a problem. Thats pretty normal. Some folks say its an imbalance of available minerals in the soil that cause the coloring, with a shortage of phosphorus or potash. I personally believe its also sometimes a genetic trait that shows up in some strains.

I wouldnt worry about it if youre sure the soil is decent stuff. If your soil isnt very good, you will soon have lots more problems than colored stems.

Its possible that the PH of your water could be so off the wall that its causing an imbalance so severe that some minerals cant be absorbed, but if the PH of your water is anywhere within reason, like between 5.0 and 7.5, it should be ok.

I wouldnt get too worried unless you start to notice health problems. Constantly drooping leaves, slow growth and yellowing leaves are things to indicate a potential problem.
