just starting out

mjrsmoke Registered on Mar-10-2006 More User Info Message #17135 posted by mjrsmoke (Info) March 10, 2006 23:27:36 ET hello everybody.i am going to start a grow in my closet,my closet size is 5x5x9 i have done alot of reading on how to grow. i have read hundreds of forums,and this is by far the best place to find all the awnsers i need,everybody here is really cool.i just havea quick question about lights.i have done some looking on the net andi found a 800w dual spectrum grow light hps mh.ok i was wondering if i should just use the mh light for veg state then when plant is ready to flower switch on the hps so i have both lights at same time.or will it be betterto turn on both hps and mh and keep them on thru the entire grow?

If you can get 800w from beginning to end, just do it. The MH half will be more beneficial in vegetative and the HPS more beneficial during flowering, but both will be incredibly useful during either. So, in a nutshell: use both.

That is it. All the other stuff is just trying to make your watts work for you. Heat reduction, Co2, nutes. I say get the most out of your space. Space is the factor we can't change. You will get more yeild from each plant if you increase light and keep parameters for MJ within acceptable levels. Godd luck in the future brother. -CG
