I was wondering how often I need to keep my drippers on - I was thinking 30min on, one hour off

And to start seeds I need to soak the seeds for a day and then place them in damp paper towels until they sprout - then I was going to put them in a wick/perlite system with a few floras until they sprout roots

i have the experience you need lmao : i built a dripper system from scratch
and know the right or close to dripping times ...ok i'll stop bull shitting its not
that hard lol
on for 15 minutes every 3 hours for a hydro system when there sprouted
seeds and have leaves

you have said what your gona start the seeds ok in but you havent said what
system your gona actually grow in and what main grow media
(ie..rockwool,soil,clayballs)

the seeds are easy to start most ways work ...yes the paper towel way is the
best if you want them to start off really get some jiffy plugs/peat pellets ..
there made of compressed peat and expand in water to 6 times there size so
when you get them dont be beffledabout how the seed goes in lol... they can
be used as the start for any system and is the best best media for beginers
for seeds and clones .... hope you have got a propagator (small plastic
humidity tent/dome)

if you havent got one there are cheap and you can get them from any hydro
shop or garden centre .

1)put the seeds in water for 24 hours in a dark warm place ie..airing
cupboard
2)then put them in wet paper towels in a dish with kitchen film on top to keep
in the moisture and place in airing cupboard until they sprout
3)when they sprout place the seeds in the expanded watered jiffy plugs(1cm
under the top) and straight into a propagator they will will break the surface
in about 2/3 days.
but keep them in the propagator until the roots come out the side might take
a 1 week but keep the air holes half open ..then put them in your system with
the light ....cfl or florecent

peace

I built a wick system with dish tubs and citranela wicks and perlite for the media once the seeds sprout - link for directions if anyone wants one
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=10225&highlight=wick+cloner

Im growing in a perlite/ 3/4 crushed granite media in my drip system. I built it for around 25-30$ US - Im proud good 6 plant setup with 6" pots 5" apart each way so there is plenty of grow room.

You only want to water when the lights are on as well correct?

if you have a tank and the run off water runs back to the tank, then the time to
water is meant to be when the light are on ....but pros have realised its better to
water /feed all the time, then the tank doesnt stagnate or go gay when the light
are off. (keeps the tank oxygenated) anyway its is better for the plants if the
climate is at a constant meaning timed watering at constant intervalls .

: )

I have a 15" airstone in the tank thats going to be on all the time to keep the mixture circulated - but The water is going to be going back into the same tank to be reused again. So can I still do it for the 15m 3h interval constantly ?

Also I have a question on how to keep a mother plant and scrog.

On the mother plant do you just supply it with enough light to satiate it or would it be a better idea to top it and prune it alot?

And on scrog growing do you need to pinch or prune it? Or will it start its own new buds trying to grow towards the lights?

I have 5 1/2 feet high and 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 of space to grow in so it might be better to not even scrog it ....

5.5 feet no need to scrog ..i dont do it anyway : )
yer the 15m 3h interval constantly is fine . something i did was instead of the
air pump/stones on constant i fizzed the tank 10 minutes before a feed so
the tank is proper oxygenated , there is no need to have it on 24/7 waiste of
electricity ,,, the recirculation of feeds every 3 hours is enough to stop the
tank stagnating but its nice to a add a fizz to the tank just before every feed .

the mother ...if your gona keep her in veg get a good florecent light (bright
wing )and i perfer to prune some bend but i like to prune ..also get some
"nitrozyme" growth enhancer for spraying on them at night it makes the plant
produce lots of new shoots (future clones) ..

hope that helps .peace

I read in past post you use canna aqua products
do you need a&b or different ones for different plants/times

Om feeding them I want to wait for a few weeks before giving them nutes so i dontn shock them, then just once a week till the end when I start reducing then flushing right?

Instead of a mother would it work better for me to get one female then chop her up a little get my 6 clones going then just take one off every plant from then on to make sure I keep getting girls?

this is the list of nutes that i use :

"FORMULEX" (early veg growth)
to be used from very early growth (just after real leaves come out but use 8th strength its a fertalizer that is kinder to the young seedling than others not necessary but if you an extra 5 quid a good buy ...

"CANNA AQUA VEGA" (for er veg lol )
to be used for veg growth after the plant is 6in or tallerall the way up to the change of light into 12/12 then you change to flores :

"CANNA AQUA FLORES" (you need to ask? flowering lol)
used all through flowering stage except the last flowering week ...when you flush the plant

"CANNA PK 13/14" (superbloom)
to be used in the 5th week of flowering for 2/3 weeks depending on the flowering time ie .......
if the plant flowers in 8 weeks superbloom in week 5 for 2 weeks flush for 1 week

or

if the pant flowering in 9 weeks superbloom in week 5 for 3 weeks flush for 1 week

this is a excellent product and is cheap to what you get out of it ...dont use it before the 5th week as the plants will not produce enough buds and will be smaller in the end !

all throught the plants cycle i use "SUPERTHRIVE" in the tank except during flowering it give a nice healthy strong plant

and is very cheap : )

if your gona disguard the idea of a mum and cut the plants up make sure you start with a really good female plant as if the strain isnt up to scratch all the plants will become less and less potent over time !

hope this helps ...peace
