Your correct,there is alot to watch for.
It sounds like your really new to growing.
I remeber my first indoor grow,and it took alot of experienced people to get me thru it.
I used a very costly strain for my first grow,and needed help!!!
You are currently growing in VEG,which means that you have the lights ON for more then 12 hours,prolly at 18 to 24 hours.
You need to remember NOT to over water!! thats a newbie hazard.
and NOT to over fertilize as well....
Do alot of reading,like the marijuana growers guide,indoor marijuana horticulture,the cannabis growers bible,,and so on.
Get used to what you may see happen with your plants,and become more confident in your growing skills.
As for whether their male or female is not a problem as of yet,that wont happen till you cut the lights down to 12 hours ON,and 12 off,thats when you are FLOWERING.
Once you are flowering they will begin to show male or female traits within 14 days normally.
And its not hard to determine if they are male or female.
Growing isnt the hardest thing to do,but it becomes a hobbie rather quick. :D
