Quantitative genetics ??? used for future breeding

Cannabanoidz,
I have been into Genetics for about 5 years,and I am now taking the bsics to go into "Quantitative genetics," In college.
It is more deeply rooted then typical Mendelian genetics,and I wonder if the future of cannabis breeding may not be in this type of genetics.
It uses alot of statistical math,and is too the point.
just a thought.
