Good afternoon,
Haven't been around for a while, been turning words into actions.

Is anyone producing seeds with only their female plants?

I was thinking of giving two ways a go;

1. Gebberillic acid to spray

2. Bananas?, after harvesting one of the girls leaving a few flowers on (hopefully the plant is stressing) having it under 8 hrs light, I'm hoping for bananas.

For those who have experience with bananas I have a question or two if I may?
Do bananas still grow stigma from them at any stage?
Are they expected to be around the size of a calyx?

Any further info of your experience would be grateful if you had the time.

Thanks Fairdinkum

enough with the scientific names .. we dont care we call them pollen sacks
and buds/pistils , end of story !

Gebberrillic acid is not the best thing to bring out pollen sacks on a female as
it eventually kills it !
just stress it with a light in flowering take the designated plant /plants and
remove them into a seperate grow room or space ... then turn off lights for 3
days and cut water and ferts then 3 days later hit them with 1.5 strength ferts
and 24 hours light for 3 days then back to normal you will get male pollen
sacks of that plant !

then get a cotton bud and collect the pollen from them sacks and rub it on a
TRUE FEMALEs pisitls in the main grow room and MARK THE BRANCHE!

you will get feminized seeds at the end of harvest ... the seeds you get on
the hermie (both sexes plant) will also be hermie so either destroy or keep
untill you want a hermie for feminized seeds

and no bananas (stigma) dont grow to same size as buds (calyx) smaller and
more fragile

G, at what stage of flowering would you put the flowering plant into darkness?
Is there a rule of thumb so to speak as to when the male sacks are ready?
Was going to apply the male pollen to the female flower at about half way flowering. Can you confirm/deny this?

Thanks

the male pollen sacks are ready when they shed pollen ... if you move the flower a diposite of pollen will full out. they will be open like normal flowers ! and fertalizing the females can be done any time as long as the are pistils out the seeds will be created ..

normally finishing end of flowering time ... then you hang the branches, for a couple of days then rub the branche in your fingers until the seeds fall out the put the seeds in a cardboard box for a week then you can germinate/store them ...

the actual seed creation doesnt take that long but the outer case has to be strong ... when you store them store them in 2 groups 1 will be slightly lighter with a softer outercase ... these will last up to a year without germination and 2 the good seeds brown will black camo (like the ones you buy) thease will last up to 3/4 years if stored properly and are generally the stronger plants ..... use the others as a back up lol...

laterz

oh store them either in a jiffy bag or in toilet paper in an jiffy bag ..... then put them in the fridge ...

Again, thanks.

Whilst we are in convo.....i have cutting of a small bud, about an inch, which i have successfully rooted, it has been under 24/0 for about 4-6 weeks (since rooted)and is showing no sign of re-generating (so i can take more cuttings from it), is there anything i can do to help it along to help it shoot new shoots?

Cheers

yer if it has rooted but not showing any kind of growth ... cut buds off as they
will go moldy an cut leaf tips to encorage a healing process ... ie more roots and
veg growth ..... then when it starts vegging properly you can clone from it .
