smell of buds has gone????

I have some clipped branches that have been drying for about a week now, the fruity smell of the bud is no longer there, only when I touch the bud and then smell my fingers does that release any smell. I am a little worried about mold, I dont smell any but is this a beginning sign? Thanks.
