dont worry the smell comes back when it has dryed propely and its curing ! have you manicured them ? (cut all the leaves off) coz you didnt say, thats the first thing you do , then you hang them upside down to compact and dry the outside then you put them in a big cardboard box to really dry leave them in there for 3/4 days then compress the together slowly in a box of some kind ie.
find a box the size of the ammount of tweed you got like the size of a large fist , then cut a piece of hard card out to fit the top put the weed in and put the top bit in and compress slowly but with alot of wait (most people dont do this but it helps with the curing and the smell , the commercial stuff you get in has been compressed coz of the shire size and weight of the stuff ) remove it from the box and break apart slowly ! by now it should be dry and when you bend the stems they should snap but no in 2 ! if there still bendy put them back in the box for further drying ... then its ready for curing put it in plastic not glass jars ...most growers put it in glass jam jars but i found putting it in plastic bags makes it better and smell nicer also when you got a kilo its had to find all the jars lol
last time i used a bin bag but thats coz i had 14 oz : ) , fold the top over and put in a dark cupboard for at least a week then wrap a load (size of fist max) in cling film tightly ! and leave in dark cupboard for a week !
curing should take 3/4weeks minimum then its ready to smoke
