yer it from a food dehydrator that you remove the heater and the buds will be dry in 24 hours
the other thing you can do is put them hanging in your grow room or a massive cardboard box with string or dental floss or fishing line and put a normal de-humidifier in the bottom with hole around for air interchange . the bud will be dry in a couple of days ..
some experience growers on here will turn up their noses at these ways of drying ,most would say the longer you dry them the better the smoke .. i dry them on satin screen drying racks (DIY of course)lol will take up to a week but the racks are also used for making "morocan black" (from dryed flowering leaves , and super head fucking strong)so very useful
the way you dry your weed is up to you most ways work it depend how desperate you are for some smoke ?
also you dont have to cure but it DOES make a better smoke !
curing is what makes the bud smell like proper bud you buy and it smoothes the smoke out
2 main ways of curing
1) glass jars :
dry your bud out in what ever way you want until the stems break when bent but dont snap in 2 this is the starting of curing collect glass jars in the understanding that you can hold up to 14g (half an oz)in a average jam jar ,so collect a few more than you need just incase . put the buds inside the jars and tighten lid and store in a DARK place (it HAS to be dark! light destroys THC)open EVERYDAY and move buds around CAREFULLY try no to rub them together -will nock off resin glands ... do this for as long as you want 1/3 weeks is best . remember open every day ! and watch out for rot ! grab like a fist full max and wrap it tightly in "cling film ,kitchen film" and store in dark place for a few days the longer the better, it will honk : )
2)plastic bags (bin liners):
dry your bud out in what ever way you want until the stems break when bent but dont snap in 2 this is the starting of curing get 1 bin liner and empty all the buds in so all the bud are together fold top over (NOT-tightly) and store in a DARK space, everyday do as you would to the jars open and move around the curing bud do this for a week minimum 2 weeks will be fine. then do the same with the "cling film,kitchen film,food wrap"
fist fulls and wrap them up and store in a dark place for a week min ..will honk : )
hope that enough info ...oh shit 1 more thing when you harvest the plants and when you manicure your plants (remove the leaves with scissors) keep all the crystal covered leaves and put them in a shoe box/cardboard box so they dry it will take a month for them to dry but like the buds open it up and move them around everyday ,break them up small for better and faster drying . you will use these for making black ,pure solid.now some solid isnt the best smoke , i have seen some with bits of plastic inside and with super harsh smoking and minging smell. this stuff will remove the control and thinking capacity of a coniser smoker : ) i have seen friends lose their capacity for everything lmao
super easy to make and super strong more stronger strains are better like white widow or white rhino,with thc 15% +.
when the leaves have dryed and they are as dry as powder and looking a little dusty (might take a while) the first thing is how to make a satin screen :
1) get 4 pieces of strip wood( 1" x 2") 2 the same size about half a meter long and the others 30cm long and put them together to make a rectangle , so when you put it flat on the ground the thinner faces are point up !
2) go and buy some fine satin material from a fabric shop this stuff has to be like mosquito netting solid but if you breath through it it doesnt stop the wind !
get a couple of meters ..its always useful
3) cut a piece of satin to fit the frame and staple gun in place one end stretch and staple the other end then stretch 1 side staple and then stretch the other side and staple again so the satin is properly even over the frame and is bouncy so is you hold it firmly and drop a marble it will bounce out ! then attach another piece of wood to the satin side at a thin end so when you put it down the satin is at the bottom and there is a piece of wood under it lifting one side up .
4) get a board of mdf bigger than your screen so like 70cm x 50cm cover in hydroponic "black out" (black one side ,white the other) , black side up !
put the screen on this and your ready
5)pour some dryed leaves in to the screen from the box and with your hand massage the leaves over the satin over and over again take time on it. i had 12 3 foot plants and i spent 1 hour every 2 days massaging the leaves over the satin the more you do it more resin gland will fall through the bottom onto the black "black out" will look like light brown powder you can scrape it together with a razor blade or a small ruler . dont smoke it now lol , its hard not to but wait lol .
6) cut a piece of plastic from a document slip ( the ones that you put paper in like school work to stop shit getting on them and the same as the things inside ring binders ) make a plastic pouch like a baggie (BUT DONT USE A BAGGIE!!!) with sellotape pour some resin power inside and fold over top and tape down so there is no way of it getting out ! .cut a piece of A4 paper to fit it like a christmas present : ) and use paper tape to seal . run water onto it so the paper gets really wet .SATURATED
7) HEAT UP THE OVEN TO 150 degrees C and put the resin parsel inside for 10 minutes only! the water will stop the paper burning and the paper will stop the plastic burning and the plastic will stop the resin buring : )
remove it from the oven and compress .. now your meant to use a rolling pin but i used a workshop vice ,put the parsel between to bits of either MDF or something lying around bigger than the parsel and clamp with all your strength and leave for 30 secs remove and put in fridge for 10 minutes .remove and with a razor blade carefully cut open the parsel through the paper then through the plastic .
8) THE RESULT ... it should look like a black sometimes shiny block sometime thin depening on how much you put in
this stuff will FUCK YOU UP : )
and you can re-use the leaves as many times as you want : ) i re-used the same leaves about 15/20 times got about 4/5 ozz of pure black the more the leaves dry the more resin drops come out the bottom
they say your meant to cure the leaves for 6 months aswell. but this is BOLLOX !
