The government just finised a study that says that 1 in 4 girls in America have STD's mostly HPV
[HUMAN PAPPILOMAVIRUS] which can later cause cervical cancer. They now have a vaccine which I recommend IF THEY DON'T PRACTICE SAFE SEX! But that vaccine is controversial also.

But as a nurse this is a serious trend for girls/women and any of you with sexually active children need to address this subject that is getting out of hand. What happened to the free condom thingy? Seems not many using them out there. This could turn epidemic. Brocky...please use safe sex as you are the only youngun' here.....1 in 4 is substantial and how lucky do you guys feel?

Howdy imnother,

Yup..that is a sad statistic, but not too surprising, given the constant assault on society,at the hands of modern liberals, that encourages promiscuity at every turn with any partner at any time or place.

Misery loves company,so liberals are even encouraging children as young as 5 years old,to explore their 'sexuality' and to experiment with such, with both sexes. Abstinence is ridiculed and shunned,as a Christian value for one and 'social' developement is encouraged, even if a large part of that 'social developement' involves sexual promiscuity with multiple partners of both sexes.

Have a good one !

hello torog,

may i please see the evidence that modern liberals are encouraging 5 year olds to experiment with multiple sexual partners of both sexes?

at my modern liberal school, in my liberal city, my 10 year old daughter got in trouble for kissing a boy on the cheek...maybe she wasn't gay enough???

Sorry to hear that FR, I can only assume you have throughly beaten the promiscuous child. Spare the rod and spoil the child and all that, maybe Christian counseling or good old fashioned chastisement will help.

Missed you in vansterdam, our Friend sure seems to be eating well, and has a amazing museum.
I was heartened by all the active volcanoes in various smoking rooms' and patios in your liberal city.

Hope the kids get better and you don't catch it, hate them little viruses.
We called and met David right after we checked in at the Granville island hotel(great place, smoking rooms and pets ok) We stayed at the museum until bedtime, so much stuff, Dave gave us t-shirts and posters. We went to Marc's place next day, smoked and bought books, then on to the vancouver seed bank, Kara treated us very good, smoked and bought seeds, I was glad to see that my salvia at home was bigger than any I saw in town.
As far as surgery, I am bruised from my knees to my navel but it seems to have worked. Now they want to turn me into the energizer bunny with a pacemaker, don't know how I will like being a cyborg.

judging by their website, dana's VSB looks very good...DAMN i would have enjoyed a session with you guys there...the marijuana party headquarters is expanding...they are renovating the two floors above the bookstore/vapour lounge...it's got high loft ceilings and exposed brickwork...it's going to be nice

a couple years ago, there was talk of taking over the building across the street from the new amsterdam cafe and turning it into the largest cannabis cafe in the world complete with a rooftop deck...don't know what happened to that

take the pacemaker for peace of mind...i'm thinking of getting one myself to keep me from blowing a valve when the kids draw a mural on the walls

Premarital or other illicit sex is one of the top 3 causes of human misery and
death worldwide. Hunger and disease would be the other 2.

where did you get that statistic? the catholic encyclopedia of global guilt?

i remember premarital sex being one of the top causes of joy, and the illicit sex adventures of spitzer and craig and clinton brought joy to billions of people...don't get me wrong: i love being married and the fidelity that accompanies it, but judging by the proliferation of strip clubs, pornography, and extramarital sex on tv, movies and commercials, people find sex entertaining

AIDS is a major source of misery in africa but it was driven by needles, not dicks...either way, the bush administration's foreign aid squeamishness about condoms, prostitution, and drug addiction added to the misery:

i tried googling torog's five year old sex claims and got nothing other than an embarrassing listing in my search history...if it's true and easily googled, why don't you provide the evidence?

let's say that i made a crazy claim like, oh, i dunno, the texas government provides subsidies to texas men who provide homosexual sex act tutoring to five year olds in the privacy of their homes...it would be reasonable of torog to ask me to provide some evidence of this claim, but it would be unreasonable of me to reply THAT IS A CURRENT TRUE STATISTIC THAT CAN BE GOOGLED and then continue to repeat the baseless claim that texas conservatives are blowing five year olds on the taxpayer's dime

without any evidence to the contrary, i have to conclude that torog is repeatedly lying about this

I won't compete against your internet "dumpster diving". It easy to
substantiate anything via google if you try hard enough.

In the last decade, 500,000,000 have been lost to abortions. A small
percentage of those occurred within a monogamous marriage. The rest was
simply another form of birth control.

25,000,000 folks have died of AIDS since '81. Surely the numbers can be
twisted any way you want regarding how they contracted the disease,
however, anyone can agree a majority of those folks got it through illicit sex.

There are 12,000,000 AIDS orphans in Africa alone.

Approximately 1,000,000 died from syphilis in the last decade

Sex slavery - approximately 1,000,000 - 2,000,000 girls, most under the age
of 18, are trafficked yearly.

Single parents - surely some are due to divorce, but most are not. Here are
some of the statistics that document the immense human suffering resulting
in out of wedlock births and the generally fatherlessness that results:

There are just the statistics in the US:

"25,000,000 folks have died of AIDS since '81. Surely the numbers can be
twisted any way you want regarding how they contracted the disease,
however, anyone can agree a majority of those folks got it through illicit sex."

- i do not agree...i think most of them got AIDS through needles, marital sex, and blood...over 60% of africans with aids are women, many of whom were monogamous...millions of VIRGIN african children acquired AIDS from their mothers...IMO everyone who gets aids is a victim regardless of whether they stuck a needle in their arm, screwed a prostitute, or sucked the virus out of their mother's breast...blaming most of it on illicit sex is blaming the sinner-victim...by most definitions, illicit sex is any sex outside of marriage, but most people have sex outside of marriage so it is unreasonable to blame people for doing what comes naturally, but instead it is better to limit the damage that can arise from following our god-given natural impulses...abstinence is not going to get results because sex is instinctual and fun...we can't even stop heterosexual men from having sex with eachother in prison!

your statistical compilation is interesting but illicit sex is not the only cause of single parents: half of marriages fail at some point...besides, there is no direct connection between a parent's illicit sex and children's drug/tobacco use - almost all married people had illicit sex before they had children so illicit sex by itself is not the cause of the suffering in your statistics

maybe the world would be a better place if sex only happened inside marriage, but it would not be a better place if we forced people not to have sex...like it or not, humans were having sex for a very long time before the artificial institution of marriage was created, and as that institution continutes to decline, we cannot pretend that sex will ever be restricted to marriage, nor rely on that as a cure for the aids epidemic

AIDS is not a moral issue: it is a health issue...the more that we focus on containing aids with religious morality, the worse it will get

i didn't get married until i was in my 30's...i think i would have exploded if i didn't have illicit sex (and my kids are just fine thanks)

Kudo's for that one FR! HIV/AIDS IS NOT A "GAY DISEASE".

The largest growing segment to contract HIV is seniors. So wear protection if you play around outside of a monogamous relationship.

i never said that aids wasn't transmitted sexually...that would be insane

in africa, 60% of people with aids are women, and almost all of them caught it through heterosexual sex...women are oppressed in africa - they are forced to be modest in dress and social behaviour...the most common motivation for murder of a female spouse in africa is suspicion of adultery which explains why so few african women cheat on their spouses:
http://www.gnxp.com/blog/2007/05/infidelity-around-world.php

african men are much more promiscuous in sexual and needle drug activity...so it isn't a stretch to say that many of the majority of people with AIDS (women) acquired it from regular monogamous non-illicit sex

HIV/AIDS is most certainly sexually transmitted and needlesticks can cause it also with blood borne pathogens, but I have met several innocent spouses and S/O's who innocently contracted the disease and they are monogamous. Many children get it from their mothers in utero also.

anybody participating in sex slaves who are children should have an orchiectomy immediatly.....I can do it if they would let me!!!!!

I don't know I believe this. I find it odd that there is a vaccine just introduced and all of a sudden like there is an epidemic of folks that can benefit from it, the same folks that would be the one approved to get the vaccine. Big Pharma (drug companies) are notorious for creating illnesses where there isnt any, or mistreating diseases with drugs that don't work, all in the name of profit.

Big Pharma is the number one profit making business in the world, this is over the industry of oil. If they want to create a scenario that they just happen to profit from, they got the money to do it. You all are entitled to your opinions on this, and I am sure there is much more teenage sex going on than ever before, but I am thinking someone fiddled with the figures on this survey and the American public is the one getting fucked.

best wishes,
HM

well HM ....IF my facts were not absolutely correct
"Mr. FR" would have already researched it and called me out on it. He keeps the "facts straight" here. Keeps us from getting away from the facts though. And since I am TECHNODUMBO, yet educated.... I CAN'T CUT AND PASTE like you guys do here.

So that info came from the "CDC" and it is current
"hot news" in my business as I am a currently practicing RN who has done forensic nursing for 4 years in our local county jail. That announcement was made by Dr. John Douglas who is the Director of the CDC ..STD.. Prevention Program......ON 03/11/08.....if you need credentials bigger than my measly nursing degrees....So I have seen a lot of STD's in my career so far. The first time I even heard of it was in 2001 when a female CO/DD[corrections officer/detention deputy ] approached me crying that she had recently been diagnosed with HPV which can cause her sterility/infertility and cervical cancer.

That announcement came out 03/11/08.....and made all the papers and news shows if you follow the current news like I do most days. That is mainly why I come here is to learn and share my knowledge and expertise[what little I have] LOL! you don't have to take me serious though as I do have a unique reputation here and nobody really takes me seriously anymore......

which is ok with me anyway. you do seem quite bright though, but all you have to do is google this info now thanks to Sergio and his widdle buddy who invented google and now are stinkin' rich.

One in four teens{white/others] has an STD ....mostly HPV...

ONE HALF OF BLACK GIRLS have or have had an STD. Most often HPV.....NO CURE EITHER!!!!!!! TOROG IS RIGHT!!!!ABSTAIN FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!
Three million teens in America age 14-19 is the current stats from that study. Dr. Margaret Blythe of Adolescent Medicine Specialist at Indiana U of Med and Head of American Academy of Pediatrics on adolescence agrees with these findings.

MAYBE IT IS BUSH'S FAULT.

But HM ......I know you don't know me and my rep sux here, but this is something I myself am currently worried about as I have granddaughters sexually active[takes after granny] who I want THEM to take GARDASIL the first vaccine to prevent HPV Virus from speading.
And as USUAL there is controvercy over the vaccine. My girls WILL GET IT as their mom is also a nurse and understands the gravity of this new news.

at least #16 ,HPV... but we must remember there is more than 100 types of HPV so far.....#6 #7 cause genital warts. 30 types are spread genitally only.....Type #6,#11,#16,#18 is the most diagnosed currently. Approx six million new cases each year is diagnosed IN AMERICA ALONE! IN TEENS!

actually age 15-24 is the six million new cases. HOW LUCKY DO YOU FEEL GUYS???? HOW ABOUT YOUR TEENS????

"OF COARSE" BIG PHARMA WILL GET STINKIN' RICH.....Like my lover has to pay $15 a pop to have sex at his age......Lvitra, Cialis,Vigra is selling well to us BOOMERS...and now we have to worry about HPV ,,,,,because seniors is the new rising group getting STD'S....ALMOST MAKES YOU WANT TO GIVE IT UP!!!!!!! not yet guys!!!!!Maybe soon though!

So what else is new...BIG OIL IS SCREWIN' US! BIG PHARMA IS SCREWIN' US! Not much we can do, but bitch here to each other. Damn you are interesting to debate....triple digit IQ is a plus here my dear!

Best wishes back at ya'! SJW RN OCN!

I believe you, and am sure that all the powers that be in the medical community have rubber stamped the study etc. I just don't think rubber stamps mean that much anymore, especially when trips to Tahiti are behind them. I hope that vaccine works and the side effects are minimal. With the particular health issues I have I don't trust the system, I see how its tweaked and what tweaks it. Nurses, for the most part, are still the heroes of the medical world imo. That's just been my experience tho. I haven't met a doctor I like yet. Not giving up hope tho.

Well thanks for giving nurses their credit due because it is true that WE ARE THE ONES there at the hospital/nursing homes 24/7......covering for MD's.

But I don't trust many physicians now. I used to think Docs were like gods!!! Until I worked with them for 18 years now. They are just humans. Some are good and some are idiots! But I was mainly worrying about my teen granddaughters on this subject. Genital warts, cancer, STD's are not something I want them to have. They are going to have sex. At some point. All vaccinations carry a risk. Many think that there is a connection to autism even. But you have to weigh the risks against the disease it prevents and I personally recommend it. Too late once theY contract it. But yes there is greed and profiteering even in my business, but I try to do best by my patients. I don't like many Docs myself, but a few I actually idolize. Be careful and educate yourself on your health issues. cyberworld is a great place to do research on any subject...You have to be an advocate for yourself and your loved ones. I am lucky because 4 of us in my family are RN's and one in law is a RT[resp tech]....so we know the good docs here and the quacks.

Have a good one ...SJ
