Richardson endorsement helping Obama in New Mexico? Think again.

The Collins Report ^ | March 26, 2008 | Irene Reznick

In 2004 we at Catholics Against Kerry, beat John Kerry in New Mexico and Governor Bill Richardson could not lie his way out of his humiliation. It was great fun watching him shuck and jive about “the final results not coming in from the reservation yet.” He was talking about the Navajo reservation.

We laughed at his stammering surprise when the numbers did come in. One thing we understood, that the Democrats and the media still do not get, is that America’s Indians are almost totally pro life. They don’t want the White man to trick their women into killing off the last remaining members of their tribes.

Using radio ads in English, Spanish and Navajo in McKinley County where the reservation is, we explained George Bush was pro life, and John Kerry was the abortion candidate. It was heart warming to listen to the spot in Navajo. Naturally we could not understand a word in their language, but we were awe struck when we heard the words “partial birth abortion” in the middle of the text.

Our New Mexico chapter had to use the English wording because “abortion” does not exist in the Navajo language. Being a “backwards people” the Navajo do not understand killing unborn babies as the Park Avenue liberals do. Bush lost New Mexico by under 400 votes in 2000. He won by about 9000 votes in 2006. That was just the number of votes he won by on the reservation.

Richardson may be able to sell Barack Obama to the Hispanics in his state, if he is the VP on the ticket, which is doubtful, but when the Navajo hear of Obama’s efforts to euthanize inconvenient born babies, his campaign in the Land of Enchantment will be as dead the babies he tried to murder.

"They don’t want the White man to trick their women into killing off the last remaining members of their tribes."

this statement makes the assumption that Native Americans are stupid, and are still trading land for liquor. Alot of Native Americans that live on the reservations have degrees, and know how to read even... They are more than capable of realizing they got screwed over, but are beyond getting 'tricked' as the author patronizingly suggests.

"but when the Navajo hear of Obama’s efforts to euthanize inconvenient born babies, his campaign in the Land of Enchantment will be as dead the babies he tried to murder."

Somehow I doubt this and would chalk this up to wishful thinking on the part of the author. Native Americans are just as capable of being Republicans and from my experience, tend to be for the most part, at least in my neck of the woods. But there are alot of Republicans who won't be voting that way, as far as I can tell, thanks to the party's track record so far.

I do think it's funny how Carville is calling Richardson a Judas. I see Carville is still in the pocket of the Clintons.

best wishes,
HM

Howdy HM,

The point of this article,is that most native Americans, are naturally pro-life and that they will not jump aboard the baby-killing express of the Left.

I wish hempity would weigh in on this.

Have a good one ...
