Somalis protest against US strike

At least 1,000 residents of the central Somali town of Dusamareb have held a protest against a deadly US attack.

The missile strike on Thursday killed the leader of a group which the US links to al-Qaeda. At least 10 others died when a house in the town was hit.

One of the protest organisers said people feared further strikes by US forces on the town.

The protest came as three Ethiopian soldiers were killed in a fighting with Islamists in the capital, Mogadishu.

Insurgents attacked an Ethiopian water tanker and the soldiers opened fire in response.

Ethiopian troops supporting Somalia's transition government come under regular attack in Mogadishu.

Fear

In Dusamareb, people protested against Thursday's US strike, shouting slogans such as "Down with the Bush administration".

One of the organisers, Abdirasak Moalim Ahmed, told the Associated Press news agency: "Our town has been severely affected by the recent US attack and still we fear because planes continue to fly over our city."

The target of the raid was Aden Hashi Ayro, a senior commander of the militant group al-Shabab.

Ayro and another Islamist leader were killed, along with three others in the house. The rest of the casualties were from surrounding homes.

Al-Shabab, which the US says is linked with al-Qaeda, controls parts of central and southern Somalia.

The group says it is a purely Somali movement and denies involvement with al-Qaeda.

Howdy hempity,

I reckon the US is danged if we do-danged if we don't..huh ?

Do you really think it's better to not engage with fundy muslim warlords and jihadists, and let them rule things ? Complete with religious, ethnic, sectarian and what ever reason they feel the need to murder for ?

Do you really think that what they have to offer in return for their victory,is wonderful and utopian ?

I guess in order not to offend and not have collateral damages,we have no choice but to withdraw and allow another massacre to happen ? Like in Rwanda ?

Have a good one ...

You want to know how I think?
I think war is murder, plain and simple.
I think the government lives on lies.
I think only foolish and frightened people believe them.
I think state campaigns for the welfare of children have always been a major justification for the expansion of leviathan. This is the primary basis for the war on drugs, which has robbed us of so many civil liberties. It is the basis for the nationalization of education that is taking place, administration by administration, in the name of preventing any child from being left behind. If the internet is ever regulated in the US or canada the way it is in China and parts of Europe, it will be in the name of protecting the children. Indeed, it is possible to erect a totalitarian state in the name of helping the children.
So it was in Texas, when the state swept in to remove 437 children from their mothers. The police were responding to a call claiming abuse, but there was no other basis for this incredible action than the desire to crush a religion completely. The state decided the dissident church shouldn't exist, and so it claimed all power in the interest of the children.

You have the emergence in human society
of this thing that's called the State
What is the State? The State is this organized bureaucracy
It is the po-lice department. It is the Army, the Navy
It is the prison system, the courts, and what have you
This is the State -- it is a repressive organization
But the state -- and gee, well, you know,
you've got to have the police, cause..
if there were no police, look at what you'd be doing to yourselves!
You'd be killing each other if there were no police!
But the reality is..
the police become necessary in human society
only at that junction in human society
where it is split between those who have and those who ain't got

That is how I think

Well, it wouldn't be like rwanda because that massacre was done by christians.

"Do you really think it's better to not engage with fundy muslim warlords and jihadists, and let them rule things ? Complete with religious, ethnic, sectarian and what ever reason they feel the need to murder for ?"

Tis better to let them work it out then to force your ways on to them, yes. What you seem to be saying is that if your muslim you shouldn't be allowed to rule anything. It seems as if your saying only christians should be able to rule. You feel as though you can murder for any reason you make up also torog. You say shit all the time thats not true. Are you willing to murder based on your perception when your wrong as much as you are? What do you say to someone that wants to murder at will like you do? Not only that, but you like the idear of your government murdering for what reason? Oh yeah, because you feel our form of government is some kind of wonderful, utopian dream. The whole thing boils down to a lust to control everything. You desire to control everything, and tell everyone whats moral or not. It is what christians have done since they came around.

"Do you really think that what they have to offer in return for their victory,is wonderful and utopian ?"

Do you really think what you have to offer is wonderful and utopian? No torog, freedom has nothing to do with what you offer. You offer slavery, and thats all.

I see just how far your willing to go with this holy war your fighting, and it disgusts me. If you have to lie to get your way, then there may just be something wrong with your message torog......

Say torog, whats worse in the eyes of your god, living in sin, or having more then one wife? If you married the one you live with, you would no longer be living in sin since your god doesn't think multiple wives is a sin.
