seed camp has already been set up and spring council is happening as i type...the actual site of the gathering will be anounced within 2 weeks but holding/seed camp already has a couple kitchens and severak thousand people scattered on the land in this vicinity:

Spring Council Directions

From Elkins WV. Take 33/55 east for about 4 miles. Take a left onto old Route 33 and go 1.9 miles through 2 big stone pillars. You are now entering Monongahela National Forrest. Make the 1st left towards Stuart and Bickle Knob on forest road 6. Go approximately 7.8 miles and cross a bridge over creek. There will be a camping area immediately on left before crossing bridge over Shavers River with info on additional camping. This location is not the site or the council area, just a meeting area with more information. The scouts do not expect to start counseling until the 1st and will not be present until the evening of the 28th (Saturday) at the earliest. If coming before the evening of the 28th please expect to find your own camping. You may want to consider the Reggae fest in Elkins WV where some people will be.

The PO Box for donations and possible info for this year is:
Rainbow Peace Gathering 2005
P.O. Box 4591
Charlottesville, VA 22905
A Bank Account has been set up and Info on how to donate, other than just sending a check to the address above, can be found on a secure website as follows: http://www.geocities.com/rainbowpeace2005

At this time there are several potential sites. Sufficient parking appears to be the biggest problem. The scouts have pretty much checked out all the possibilities, and have shifted to re-scouting several sites in the same rough area to better determine which one they think will work out the best. At Spring Council the scouts will present their favorite site or two, and then Spring Council usually gives these sites a sanity check, and depending how that goes, we wind up on one of those sites, or last minute scouting occurs for another week or so. And then we all can go home...

All Ways Free is looking for dontations of articles, artwork, photos, and green energy for this summer's issue. You can submit things to:

All Ways Free 2005
c/o NY Rainbow
P.O Box 1554
New York, NY 10009
allwaysfree2005@yahoo.com

Additional information on the water system used to purify water for this year is here. Clean water helps keep us all healthy! A PayPal account has been opened by Hawker to help cover the cost of the filters, and other expensive parts that need replacement every year.

Stone from CALM has also setup a paypal account for CALM supplies. Go here for that page.

The Rainbow Guide is also looking for donations to cover the costs of publishing the Guide. If you've ever traveled and looked up people in the Guide, you know what a great resource this is.

Happenings at the Gathering
There are many wonderful things that happen at a gathering, but I'll list a few highlights. Remember the concept of "Rainbow Time", and that any semi-scheduled event will start when it starts, and not necessarily by the clock.

July 4th, Circle for Peace
Join us for a silent circling of people to pray for world peace. The circle for peace starts at sunrise at main circle, and ends around Rainbow noon after a period of OHMing, and the Kiddie Village Parade!
AGR Circle
There is usually a party/circle/council at 3pm on the 3rd of July for folks on the various Rainbow oriented email lists and newsgroups to meet face to face. Lately this has been at Instant Soup kitchen, but you can check the Info booth before then to be sure. In person, people seem so different than they do through email.
Talent Show at Granola Funk
For many years there has been a talent show at the Granola Funk Theater. The last few years have been recorded, and tracks are available at this Rainbow Music page.
