"Fast, funny and deliriously entertaining" - Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Enquirer

"Despite several adrenaline-pumping moments, Favreau and Downey stay focused on the real story -- about a man learning to take responsibility for his actions. For all its firepower and CGI slickness, that's what really makes Iron Man fly." -Frank Lovece, Newsday

"This is one summer blockbuster that succeeds on brains, not bombast." - Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star Tribune

"The fun of Iron Man, a Marvel adaptation in which a routine arc has been burnished with great elegance and skill, is the way that it heals the split, soldering the two halves of its hero into a single organically driven figure." - Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

"Iron Man kicks off summer on a blazing high note and practically dares the competition to measure up" - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

I am STOKED to see this movie. I don't see how it can miss raking in $400M+ at the box office.

Peace, Sage

Not only that – he is in a Marvel Universe. S.H.I.E.L.D. is here. Stane is here. The Mandarin is here. Pepper Potts is here, Happy Hogan is here and yes… Rhodes is here. It’s all there. All of it.

Even a fan-fucking-tastic nod to War Machine. A moment that will pop a geek’s boner even if it’s a clit. - Harry Knowles - http://www.aintitcool.com

i saw it Sage. i was concerned that it was going to be one of those that too much hype was going to set my expectations too high. that wasn't the case. i didn't know the iron man story before this, what an awesome superhero. they are right too about the way that its filmed, very slick. downey is totally believable and usually paltrow gets on my nerves but i liked her in this role. imo, worth the cost of a full priced movie ticket for anyone that likes superhero flicks.

they advertised hulk and batman too. i am not going to rule out Norton, even tho he seems especially puny in this role, he is usually very good at playing a conflicted type character with a dark side. the guy that is playing batman imo is my favorite batman. christopher something or another.

anyway, i really do want the iron man action figure.
best wishes,
HM

I just saw it :))) Downey fits Tony Stark like a golden titanium gauntlet. The special effects were jaw-dropping and the ending actually surprised me. It's a terrific movie.

Christopher Bale is The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger will be the star of that movie, though, I think.

The Incredible Hulk looks pretty good if you like big green monsters that smash things and who doesn't?

As far as Hulk vs. Iron Man, that would be no contest.

Peace, Sage

I was going to mention.

Sit through the credits

Just took my grandsons to Iron Man. Very cool movie with a big time performance by Downey. Paltrow IS Pepper Pot, and bald headed Jeff Bridges is one convincing nasty bad man. A little on the violent side in the beginning for my 6 year old, but once it turned comic bookish and Iron Man went into action it was all good. Iron Man flying was the favorite part for the kids, but overall they liked it a lot. Great flick!

And thanks, Shootist, for the advice to wait, wait, wait through the credits. Damn, it takes a lot of people to make a big time movie. :-)

Seems like a lot has to come together for these plans to work out. I wish them the best.

http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080505/20080505005656.html?.v=1

"Marvel today updated its feature film slate strategy and plans for the next three years, locking in key release windows for its character franchises. In order to focus its attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man sequel and the launch of Thor in the summer of 2010 and because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009. Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011."

Well now, where is Ant-Man? hmmm??

Peace, Sage

They already tried an Avengers flick, it was ok.

Don't worry more Marvel goodies to come!
