Maybe someone has beaten this thing. It is started to drive me crazy. I have downloaded several software like SPybot and Macafee and others and nothing stops this.

It's the one that tells you every few seconds that you have a viris and to buy their software.

I have removed their entries from REgistry keys, and any files of theirs I have deleted.

Still it shows up. Not sure what to do.

TIA, S. French

Hey Sima, is Malbaware Bell the name of the malicious program?
Can you post a screen shot?

I believe that one can be a nasty one to remove. If you do get it removed you might want to do this just to be sure...

http://www.spyware-techie.com/malwarebell-or-malwarebell-32-removal-guide/

REMEMBER...If you are running Windows XP, once you have your system clean delete all restore points because it will be stored there and come back to haunt you again.

Press the Windows key and the Pause key at the same time. Go to the system restore tab and check Turn off System Restore on All Drives and hit OK. Then restart system and go back and uncheck Turn off System Restore on all drives and hit OK.

Hopefully you'll be good to go. It's a good idea to run Hijack this now and then.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Make a hijackthis folder, you can make on in My Documents if you like and download the zip file to that folder. Once it's downloaded click on the zip folder and click browse and find the location of the HIjack this folder and unzip it to there. Next click on the HijackThis exe and then click on, Do a system scan and save a log file. A copy will come up in notepad. Click you cursor anywhere in the notepad file and press Ctrl and A then Ctrl and C. Now you have a copy on the clipboard. Go here http://www.hijackthis.de/ and paste the file copy into the log file text box by pressing Ctrl and V at the same time.. Scroll down and click on Analyze and see if anything unsafe comes up.

This one may be easier for you Sima. Turn off System Restore before you run it. Download that program then run it then reboot then enable System Restore again. Then run Hijackthis and see if your clean.

Ooops forgot the link...

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4280

I ran it on my computer and it came up with some programs that weren't Malware but if it finds the one you have just delete that one. Or you could try Windows Defender.

I just had something like that, but it was a different program. I forgot the name of it.

At any rate, I had to reformat my whole machine with the rescue disk. One thing you can try is removing it with anti-virus and/or spyware programs, then before you reboot, use something like System Mechanic to clean out your registry. Sometimes this will prevent the malware from spawning when you reboot. Unfortuantely, it didn't work for me this go around. Reformatting is a pain.

Also, get something like BitDefender. It's less expensive than the 'name brands' (Norton, McAffee) and every bit as good. Think of it as a condom for your computer. :)

It did work!!! thanks SKitter. Now for that second part. I think re-formatting is what you have to do going forward.

Glad to hear that you got rid of it Sima. I maybe too late but if you're clean no need to reformat.
