Ive been reading up on how hemp was widely used during the U.S' early years but can't understand one thing. If hemp was so widely used as paper and rope and all its other uses, how did pulp and paper mills originating for trees come to be in the first place. Several sites have said people turned against marijuana because they feared "the REBIRTH of marijuana would threaten oil companies and pulp and paper companies" but i dont understand why it wouldn't have already been stopping their progress...
