Hi guys. I'm here to offer my services as a custom pipe-maker. I had 3 years of undergrad ceramics before I went down the English path, but working with clay is still one of my favorite activities. I have been making pipes for myself and friends for about 4 years.
To describe my work, my current favorite pipe is a piece with a triple satellite stem (stem is attached at 3 separate points instead of blending into the bowl), and each connection point is finished to look like a dragon claw.
The most unique feature is the size of the carburetor; the pipe was designed with a spiral radiator out of which the exterior of the bowl is formed. This offers two advantages - the smoke is significantly cooler, and there is less air mixed in, so a hit is much stronger than could be expected from a normal pipe. I left it unpainted... the natural look suits me, reminding me of the process of constructing it.
Personally, I prefer clay over glass. The smoke is always cooler and smoother, and its very nature - the texture, weight, and even smell - seems much more connected to the earth's life force.

I cannot think of a scenario where I would charge more than $50 unless I had to go buy a special new tool or something. I think you'll find my services very affordable.
Finally, I'm willing to reduce the price by half for the first 5 orders I receive as a thank you for your confidence.
