Something came to me while cooking up some peas and rice this weekend. Do you think there is enough fat/oil in coconut milk to extract THC from herb? Not the canned stuff, though.

When I make peas and rice, I prepare fresh coconut milk. Crack a coconut, get the flesh, puree it, then pour 6-8 cups of boiling hot water over it and let it steep. Then I pour the entire mixture through a strainer lined with cheeseclothe and then squeeze the flesh to get the last drops of 'milk'.

While boiling up my peas, I noticed oil in the water. Mind you, I'd have to get the mixture of coconut milk and dried peas to boil, then simmer it for about 1.5hours, then add the rice and cook that for another .5 hour. So we're talking at least 2 hours immersed in a fatty/oily liquid. Anyone with experience cooking with herb think that would work? If I ever get my hands on some again, I might try that. Would make for an interesting lunch @ work.

yep, coconut milk has plenty of fat

i extracted thc into whole milk (1 gram per cup) with very good results...these days i extract it into 10% cream (1.5 gram per oz)

the fat in milk/cream is homogenized so it's evenly spread throughout the liquid which makes it much more efficient at surrounding and absorbing cannabinoids than the butter and water method...i only simmer for about 30 minutes

I've read on the forums that smoking is a more efficient THC absorption method. That more of the herb is required when eating.

Is this true or not?

it's been true in my experience, but eating it gets you higher for longer

if I ever do score, I'm gonna try eating instead of smoking. Especially if its mids or worse. THC being fat-soluble should be a dream to cook with. I've read a lot of positive things about the culinary route.

I've had a lot of problems with smoking in the past. Mainly bronchitis, but also throat infections. This is true whether the substance is tobacco or pot.

I did acquire a vaporizer recently but haven't used it yet. I'm waiting for some S. African kanna to arrive. I could use it with valerian root, but that sh*t is nasty enough drinking, let alone inhaling.
