interesting timing of this question.. on another board I was reading about someone making their own hash, yeh, I havn't seen that stuff for 20 yrs! anyway it would be good for you to try it just to expand your knowldge base if nothing else! Anyway, in my opinion the ONLY way to do hash is to "hot knife" it.. alot of people haven't heard about but it.. they usually say they have heard of hash on a tack, which is still burning with a flame, thus smoking it at too high of a temp. You hot knife by getting a couple of table knives and heating them with a propane torch,stove{gas is best but eleect. will work} and heating up the knives untill they're just barely orange hot.. the hash should be cut into very small pieces about the size of a grain of rice... you take the knives off the heat and wait for about one second so they are just barely alittle orange but almost no color at all. touch the end of one knife to the piece and it will stick take the other knife and put the two tips together very lightly with no pressure and after about one second apply pressure and move the knives in kind of a rotating "smashing" movement... the other person should have a plastic soda bottle with the bottom cut off or a funnel to gather the smoke.. you would not believe how far a gram or two of hash will go if you do it right!! The higher the heat you apply to hash the more it will just burn up instead of smoke.. Have fun!!
