Alright Sam, I'll take pity on you. I'm assuming you are a kid and have limited cash. You can grow pot under fluorescents. You need GOOD potting soil. This is one area you don't want to skimp on. For pots for your pot, check the local dollar store for large rectangular waste baskets- drill a hole and they're a pot! Start with at least 2 four foot shop lights. More is better. For the first part of the grow, the cheap regular tubes will work. You want the ones with the highest color temperature-6500K- it's on the paper tube.(I got mine on sale for $7.99 each plus $4 for the tubes-so, $20 and change) You should have a timer ($5) set to 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark. The lights should be no more than 2 inches from the tallest part of your plants. Set it up so it's easy to move up and down, you'll be doing it a lot. Sunlight is very good for plants, so if during the light period you want them to get a little sun, it's OK. They don't like cold, though. If you treat them like tomatoes, you should do OK. (I grow organicly, in soil, inside in a closet. I have 400 watts and am getting more for my next grow.) When your plants stop puting out pairs of leaves and starts having alternating leaves, it's time for a switch in the lights. Now you need to go out and find some GE "Kitchen and Bath" lights ($6 or so each). Then every day or two switch out an old tube for a new one. Change your timer to 12 on and 12 off and they will begin to bud. It is important not to peek during the dark cycle. That is the bare bones basics. Now get on over to the growers forums and start reading for the details! Happy growing, Storm Crow
