Hey,it's me again. Things were going good, plants were growing almost by the hour. Now growing has really slowed or stopped. There's some brown spots and some yellowing of some leaves. Can you tell me what that's a sign of? I've watered once a week and they are not in the hot attic. I tried to attach picture but says message too big and I can't figure out how to make smaller. Anyway, your help is much appreciated!
I'll still try to get picture up.

how old are they again? if there really young give them water and only water everyday ..if you go to a garden center and get a cheap thermometer put it right next to the plants and raise or lower the light so the temperature is between 72 and 80 degrees F 78 F is perfect (22.2 - 26.6 degrees C) work in degrees F its easier lol...

Hey guys, thanks for the help, but I am kinda confused. I should water everyday? Ok, let me tell you the set up. Right now I have 3 plants(about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks old) except 1 is a bit larger than the other 2. They are in a 5 gall container together. I know sounds crazy I guess but I figured they wouldn't all be females so I'd end up(hopefully) with at least 1 female. So I just watered today and the whole pot is wet to bottom. So are you saying to do that everyday? That's too much no?
ok,just put a thermometer in the pot w/plants and read about 84 degrees. too hot? should raise the lights? Right now about 4 inches from plants. Also, besides the yellowing, the brown spots are also due to not enough water or could be burning? Thanks so much for your help, I really want this to work!

I would say not everyday, but at least ever 2-3 days put the back of your hand at the top of your plants and if you can hold it there without getting burnt its fine but if you do get burnt it is to low.

Hey George, I started in smaller pot but they were in that miracle crap potting mix, so I transplanted them into larger pot with good soil. Some of the leaves got brown and crispy(and yellowed), I think they were burning? lights too hot,too close. I raised them up and I think they're doing better. Does that sound like burning to you?
Oh, another question. Can't find perlite for some reason. I have a bunch of those styrofoam peanuts used for packing. Can I use those at bottom of pot for drainage? Or I can break them up. Isn't perlite styrofoam?
Oh yeah, I read that you can sample shoots of the plant while it's growing. If I snip shoots will they grow back?
can you tell I'm anxious? :]
Thanks!

no no no dont use styrofoam for drainage lol.. perlite "looks" like it but there more like stones than polystyrene lol.
yer sounds like burning to me ... heres a little test you can do ..

put the back of your hand under the light and raise it to the point where its still ok if it gets hot thats tooo close .. plants will be the same if there babies a little further away .

yes is you cut the shoots off more will grow back : ),but wait till its a little older first like 12" just dont cut the main center stem at an early age either unless you want 4 smaller main stems ... this is ok for creating a mum but not advised for plants that will be flowered in doors as the plant bushes out fuck loads .... some people do if they only got a few plants or if they just got the space .

laterz

if you really cant find any perlite use gravel instead ,about an inche deep.

Thanks George. I didn't use the styrofoam, thank god. That was dumb on my part(I confused styrofoam w/polystyrene lol)
I finally found perlite but it had plant food added! Stupid Miracle Gro brand, figures. So, I'll keep looking or get gravel. Thanks again. Peace & Bud!

you
dont have to say : )

http://www.amazon.com/Hoffman-H-16502-Horticult-
Perlite/dp/B000BQMKI8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-5981605-0402203?
ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1190203537&sr=8-1
