Hey guys. Got some mother plants doing well in DWC buckets. The only thing i hate about DWC is having to change 8 buckets weekly/bi weekly for nutrients. I was wondering, do I have to keep all of the roots submerged in water, or just the tips? Im trying to cut back on my fertilzer and water usage. The plants seem to be doing fine, but I dont want to cause any damage. Also, In my net pots, im using Hydro ton. Does the medium need to have moisture? Or will the lower roots provide enough water? Thanks guys.

well ive doone dwc many times and i found out that firstly the roots are completely submurged in the solution until the plant starts taking it up and the solution it left will be drained i have noticed that the plant doesnt really slow down until there isnt any water left so if there was half a bucket instead of 4/5th the plant will be fine .... but if your flowering i wouldnt take the risk ! coz if you have it half full the draining time will be much less ... if you miss a top up the plants will be stunted ...not good especially in flowering .

the roots in the hydroton will be fine and no it doesnt need water in the net pot as long as the roots under it are in water the plant will be fine .

hope this helps
