distance between light and plant

i forget my name Registered on Mar-25-2008 More User Info Message #84465 posted by i forget my name (Info) March 25, 2008 10:31:51 ET I had floros on my seedlings i had them ruffly an inch away because they didn't get hot or omit heat. . .now i have a 400hps and now i need to have it high enough that it reaches all plants (i have 9 in 8in pots) whats a good height? right now its at about 6in from the tip of the plant to the bulb but my corner plants are trying to reach across. . . . this one-000- this one 000 this one-000-this one i guess i have another question as well is a reflector essential?

It will feel hot. Move your hand down until it feels warm to cool. That's where you want the tops of your plants to be. If some tops get too tall, then tie them down somehow. Works for me! BWinkle
