2 different strains of plant growing. The one I normally have is looking great, green, vibrant! The other strain came from a friends "healthy clones" and I have little doubt he has bad plants. Power Flower soil (contains Nitrogen/ Bat Guano) nothing too strong, 400 watt metal halide, about 77degrees on average. The clones I got, the ones with problems.. 80% of them look VERY pissed off.. Ive been flushing with 5.8-6.0 water for a week and they still have burning tips and edges and leaves dying off. ONE plant out of this peticular strain looks amazing though... Im out of ideas here and flushing hasnt been helping. Any advice is highly appreciated.

What I was getting at before is I dont think it could be a nutrient burn sort of thing because they are all eating the same things, same soil (one in hydro with the same problem)

erm whats the heat like , coz it looks like they been burnt ,if not heat then yer
its nutes .... it might be theres too much salt in the soil and collecting in the
pots bit like when you have nutes in a black tank after a while you get a white
powder in the inside at the bottom ,

this is why i hate soil ,when it fucks up you dont no what wrong with it , with
hydro its easy to correct ....

let me guess when you pluck off the big burnt fan leaves ,the it looks ok for a
bit then the burnt ness comes back to the smaller leaves

i am guessing (and i can only guess ) that because of excess ferts you got
excess salts in the soil .... when you flush a plant it just flushes THE PLANT
not the soil if flushing has no efect its the salts in the soil ....

transplant the plants into new soil with new pots or at least clean the old
ones with water ,break as much as the soil off as possible and transpant into
new soil .....hopefully this will solve the problem and when you finish keep
the flushing going for a few days

peace

george is right, I WOULD flush the hell out of the plants. Do not use premix soil, as you do not have a base line to grow pot. When you start out with soil/growing medium you need to start off slow. You also do not need much light , 4 ft full service ballast and full service cool white bulbs do the trick. At the plant top you should be able to hold your hand there for a hour and it should not be hot just warm.
Pot will grow with plain water and most mediums, perlite/vermulite. BUT when you add ferts you sneek up on the amounts, to the point of 1/16 in to 1/8 leaf tip burn.

Thanks guys... I totally agree, this soil is supposedly good good sh*t but I hate it, my first and last time using it, not enough perlite in it either. The funny thing here is my one thats in hydro is doing the same thing... so Id agree on the soil thing... but whats the story on the one in hydro with the same symptoms? Average is about 77 degrees... I was getting some burns even with fluro lights... maybe its just the clones...

I have had blubs 48 watt setting on the plants for 2 days and did not burn. Ferts, and ph , flush the hell out of them. I have even grown hydro with plain tape water. In fact I have only used tap water for a long long long time. If its good enough to drink a weed will love it.
NOte chlorine can be added to normal water if you know what your doing. So clorine drinking water will work. I must admit if you do some more reading on how to grow pot, you will be supprised how simple it is. Even a Leo can grow pot.

Ha! And not only that. I called Power Flower and they had a bad pallet of soil, excess ferts. I changed out my soil and things look good, I knew it wasnt my bad ;) But seriously, learn to spell.
